Publisher's light gray pictorial cloth, spine and front board lettered in gilt and stamped in black and orangish-brown (BAL state A, sequence unknown). Covers a little darkened with some mild soiling; spine very slightly askew with a shallow furrow near the front joint; spine ends lightly worn; corners tapped. Text block over-opened in a few places; endpapers a little foxed with a few stray fox marks or other minor blemishes throughout, mostly in the margins; contemporary gift inscription in pencil on the preliminary blank.
