Léon Moussinac. Panoramique du cinéma. Paris: Au sans pareil, 1929. First edition. Octavo (9 x 6.25 inches; 226 x 156 mm.). 147, [1, contents continued], [1, edition notes], [3, blank] pages (note: first two pages are blank). 80 photographic illustrations on, 10 double-sided plates, inserted throughout. Publisher's binding in the original wrappers, printed in green; all edges of the text block untrimmed; no endpapers. Spine slightly leaning, softly creased down the center; tear to the base of the spine with the resulting flap seemingly glued back down; edges and joints lightly worn with a few minor nicks and creases; faint uneven fading and a touch of foxing to the wrappers; price deliberated rubbed away from the rear panel resulting in a small bruise. Text somewhat foxed throughout with occasional brief notes in pencil. Very good. Third title in the Manifestations de l'esprit contemporain series. Moussinac was a significant film critic and theorist; he was a Communist and responsible for introducing much of the French public to what the Soviets were producing. (#10073).
