Publisher's light brown cloth, spine lettered in red, front board lettered and decoratively stamped in red, white and blue; all edges of the text block trimmed; plain endpapers. In the original illustrated dust jacket, printed in red. Spine very gently leaning; backstrip very faintly dulled; light foxing and minimal soiling along the board edges; extremities with just a hint of wear. Top edge of the text block lightly foxed. Dust jacket with a large chip at the base of the spine panel (almost 1.5 inches wide), some shallow chipping to the crown, with old paper tape repairs at the spine ends and fold edges; a minor dampstains with soiling on the front panel; edges and joints lightly worn. Good but looks a little nicer. Features brief biographical sketches of several prominent American figures. (#10203).
