[2, blank], viii, [2, illustrations list (verso blank)], [2, fly-title, quote on verso)], 610, [1, publisher's imprint], [3, blank] pages with four pages of ads inserted before the terminal blank. Frontispiece and five illustrated plates inserted throughout, one being a double-sided facsimile reproduction of a letter. Publisher's green cloth, spine and front board lettered in gilt with a gilt-stamped feather on the front board; top edge of the text block gilt, others untrimmed; plain endpapers. Spine gently leaning; backstrip and board edges dulled; covers lightly soiled with just a touch of wear; corners slightly bent.
