Publisher's green cloth, spine and front board lettered in gilt with the Lovell imprint at the base of the spine; top edge of the text block gilt, others untrimmed; black coated endpapers. Spine very slightly leaning; spine ends softly pushed with a touch of wear; corners softly bumped; covers lightly rubbed with a little bit of soiling; small scuff to the fore-edge of the front board. Hinges tender, and starting, but holding firm. Very good. Apparently literary criticism disguised as letters to various authors, including Twain, Tolstoy, Hardy, Stevenson and others. (#10188).
