Signed by the author, with compliments, using both his real name and pen name. Octavo (7.125 x 4.75 inches; 180 x 120 mm.). [2, blank], [6], ix, [1, blank], 313, [1, blank], [4, ads] pages. Publisher's two-tone cloth with orange and green, spine and front board lettered in gilt and stamped in black; top edge of the text block gilt, others trimmed; plain endpapers. Spine slightly leaning; spine ends slightly pushed with a few small closed tears; joints and edges slightly worn; corners softly bumped; covers lightly soiled. Hinges mended but the front still cracked; title-leaf very nearly detached; newspaper clipping of the author's obituary affixed to the front paste down, offsetting opposite; text block tanned and somewhat brittle.
