Robert Montgomery. Satan. A Poem. London: Samuel Maunder, 1830. First edition. Octavo (7.25 x 4.5 inches; 185 x 115 mm.). [3-4, title-leaf], 391, [1, imprint] pages (note: bound without A1, the half-title leaf); errata inserted after the title-leaf. Contemporary half polished calf over marbled paper-covered boards, spine in six compartments, one compartment lettered in gilt, others gilt-stamped, boards tooled in blind; all edges of the text block sprinkled read; plain endpapers, flyleaves. Front joint cracked, still hanging by the cords; spine ends worn with a short tear to the leather near the crown and another in the second compartment; rear joint and edges worn; corners softly bumped; boards a little rubbed. Top edge of the text block a little dusty with a narrow tidemark to the last couple gatherings (occasionally visible in page margins); some faint discoloration to the corners of the endpapers, offsetting from the binding; some trivial fox marks throughout the text. Very good. NCBEL, Volume III, p. 540. (#10347).
