A series of tiny shallow indentations near the spine fold toward the upper edge; very minor wear to the spine fold with a tiny nick at the base of the spine; hint of marginal soiling with some faint discoloration on the last page. Near fine. Readings from Twain's "Scotty Briggs's Interview with the Clergyman" as well as stories from Dickens, Harriet Beecher Stowe and others. Churchill was "one of the foremost of our teachers of public speaking, and of the most eminent public readers America has known" (The Speaker, Volume III, No. 2, March 1908). (#10294).
