Frontispieces and numerous illustrated plates inserted throughout. Publisher's dark red ribbed cloth, spines and front boards lettered in gilt; page edges rough-trimmed; plain endpapers. Backstrips very faintly dulled with some shallow rippling; some mild tarnishing to the spine gilt; corners just barely bent. Contemporary ownership signatures on the front free endpaper; soft vertical crease to the front free endpaper. Nearly fine. Contains several references to Twain as well as an excerpt of his curtain speech from the opening night of Ah Sin. (#10238).
