Publisher's cord binding with the original dark red limp leather wrappers (split and detached), front wrapper lettered in gilt and ruled and blind; all edges of the text block rough trimmed; marbled endpapers. Wrappers tattered, split on the centerfold and creased; extended chip across the bottom edge; small interior hole in the upper margin of the front wrapper; rear wrapper a little soiled. Text faintly tanned, particularly along the edges; centerfold of the text splitting at the bottom edge; intermittent mild soiling; previous ownership signature in pencil on the front free endpaper.
