Illustrated frontispieces, with tissue guards printed in red, inserted in each volume. Publisher's dark blue ribbed cloth, spines lettered in gilt, front boards ruled in blind with Twain's facsimile signature stamped in gilt; top edges of the text block gilt, others rough trimmed; plain endpapers; in the original dust jackets. Boards very gently bowed; covers very lightly rubbed; extremities with just a touch of wear. Endpapers discolored just a shade with very light foxing; occasional mild over-opening. Near fine copies in very good dust jackets with faded spine panels and worn joints and edges (some chips and closed tears, both with small interior holes on the spine panels), first volume soiled.
