Publisher's dark green cloth, spine and front board stamped in gilt and black, second state of the position of the uppermost central fillet on the spine; all edges of the text block trimmed; plain ("true") endpapers. Spine leaning a little; covers rubbed, some small, faint splashes on the rear board; joints and edges a somewhat worn, particularly at the spine ends and corners, both a little frayed; corners softly bumped. Text block sagging a little; front hinge partially cracked between the facsimile manuscript and its letterpress printing preceding the title-leaf; facsimile leaf with a one and a half inch closed tear to the bottom of the gutter margin, apparently glued to the preceding blank to strengthen the hinge; faint tidemark on the bottom corner of the text block; sporadic mild marginal soiling. Good, but still relatively nice and clean. BAL 3402. (#10090).
