Frank Harris. My Life and Loves. [Paris]: Privately printed [but really Obelisk Press, 1934]. Third edition, following the first, published by the author in Nice starting in 1922, and Mein Leben, a translation by Antonina Vallentin, published in Berlin by S. Fischer in 1926 (before the final volume of the first edition was printed). Four volumes. Octavos in sixteens (7.1875 x 5.125 inches; 183 x 130 mm.). 353, [1, blank], [1, impremerie], [1, blank]; 450, [1, impremerie], [1, blank]; 265, [1, blank], [1, impremerie], [1, blank]; 268, [1, impremerie], [3, blank] pages (note: the first 4 pages of volumes one, two and four, as well as the first 2 of volume two, are blank and included in the pagination). The final two gatherings of the fourth volume, starting on page 193, are printed on a different, lesser paper stock. Publisher's perfect binding in the original light brownish-white wrappers, slightly oversized and printed in red, each priced 50 francs on the rear wrapper. Spines very slightly askew with some minor vertical creasing, second volume slightly rolled; backstrips a little tanned and the red ink is slightly faded; edges lightly worn, particularly at the spine ends; edges lightly worn with a few nicks and short closed tears; wrappers lightly soiled with very brief notes written in the upper corner on the front, and bookseller notations on the inside of the rear wrapper of the first volume. Short interior tear, with minimal paper loss, in the gutter margin of the half-title of the fourth volume. Very good. Pearson, A-28. (#10036).
