I was enthusiastic to help organize the Fort Worth Antiquarian Book Fair in 2020, my first year to be involved in any official capacity, after exhibiting in 2019 and working the Heritage Auctions table in years past. I created a website for the show (fwbookfair.com) and had ambitious plans for possible partnerships. As the Covid-19 case count continued to rise in Tarrant County, and across Texas, it became abundantly clear that hosting a fair this year would be irresponsible and those plans would need to be placed on hold. Fortunately, our hosts at the Fort Worth Masonic Center are kind and reasonable people, allowing us the flexibility to push our scheduled dates back a year. While book fairs are relatively insignificant in the face of the greater trials we're currently facing, but they're something I still miss. I look forward to the day they can be attended safely, fingers crossed that's within in the next 13 months.
